At last night’s Retailers Forum we discussed the draft 4 year Council Plan for 2021 – 2025, and considered the objectives and strategies set out under the “Growing local economy” pillar. It’s great that the creative industries and tourism sectors have dedicated strategies and resources targetting them. But for other sectors – manufacturing, construction, retail, hospitality, etc – there is very little provision.And as for the objective “Support the business community to work together” – that sounds exactly like BMA’s mission statement!
If the Council Plan can support US, support YOU, that would be a happy outcome indeed.Feedback on the plan closes today and will be formally adopted at next week’s Council meeting.
