Business Mount Alexander (BMA) is launching a new Buy Local campaign aimed at encouraging residents to support businesses across the Mount Alexander Shire.
The initiative, which will begin as a pilot program, is designed to highlight the wide range of local businesses operating in the region and make it easier for community members to choose local when spending their everyday dollars.

The campaign will be officially previewed at BMA’s upcoming networking event at Boomtown Winery on Wednesday 11th March, where local businesses will be given a first look at designs and concepts, and find out about how they can become involved.
BMA Chair Jacqueline Brodie-Hanns said the campaign is about strengthening the local economy by helping residents better connect with businesses in their own community.
“Mount Alexander Shire has an incredible mix of retailers, cafes, producers, makers and service providers,” Ms Brodie-Hanns said.
“Sometimes people simply don’t realise how many options exist locally, or how much impact their spending can have when it stays within the local economy.”
The pilot program aims to engage at least 50 local businesses and 200 community members in its first phase.
Participating businesses will receive Buy Local cards, window decals and posters, making it easy for customers to see who is part of the campaign.
