Why Shopping Locally Matters
The Buy Local – Spend Smarter campaign is about strengthening the local economy by helping residents better connect with businesses in their own community.
Over the coming months, the campaign will be supported through local media and social media promotion, encouraging residents to consider local businesses when making everyday purchases.
While the campaign focuses on long-term local economic activity, it also sits alongside broader community efforts to support businesses across the region following the recent bushfires in Harcourt.

BMA CHAIR, Jacqueline brody-hans
One of the most practical ways people can support local recovery and resilience is simply by
shopping locally and seeking out local service providers. We are grateful to Mount Alexander
Shire Council for funding this initiative, helping us to all ‘build back better’

This project is supported by funding from the Mount Alexander Shire Council’s Local Impacts Grants Program.
